Plan B be and Tan Ah Ah
today i thought i'd kill my time by writing an entry spanning several hours, that i'd just keep writing and writing till boredom got redefined. but then 20 seconds into my project, my mom called me for lunch. so i scrapped the whole idea.
Plan B
so what should plan b be? and that gave me an idea. i looked up the yellow pages, residential, and decided to look up funny names. it's surprising just how many tan ah ahs can co-exist in such a tiny country. ah ah doesn't amount to a name. end of story. but just to be sure i decided to call one of them up. i chose the one living in boon lay, cos i heard the ones around there are friendly people.
me: hello.
ah ah: allo?
me: is this mr tan ah ah?
ah ah: ya, who's this?
me: is that your real name?
ah ah: ah?
it coulda been a 'ya,' and not an 'ah?', but i wasn't sure. i didn't want to seem intrusive so i thanked him for his time and hung up. was he friendly? arguably. did i like his name? no. but owing to my newfound magnanimity i decided to live and let live. but my curiosity definitely did not end there. i honestly believe that naming someone ah ah is a violation of etiquette.
but who am i to complain, i'm only benjamin niroshan bala the great one.

i've been inhibited by a fear of being too judgemental, and that's why i haven't bothered posting much recently.
prom was on tuesday, at ritz, and i saw a lot of ugly people i'd rather not have seen. there was this one chick with her hair done afro in parts, and it went all the way up to about 8 feet. she was wearing a pink dress. you know who you are, if you're reading this kindly explain yourself. that was just wrong.
i think the jesus and mary chain took it too far with the distortion thing. all they came up with was bad music. every single track had way too some feedback in the background to go along with their ohidon'tusespacesbetweenmysongtitles and i don't comb my hair so i'm like that, stupid image. i hate it. it's hateful. just because they couldn't be good they went on to be disgusting.
in other news the libertines are excellent. they make really good music that makes sense, with really thoughtful riffs and tempos and all. they're a gem, although the lead singer's short.
