do you know of anyone who puts body wash on his face thinking it is after-shave? no? now you do.
i think calvin klein should use different packages for their after-shaves and their body washes. they all look deceptively similar. the worst part was when i thought calvin klein after-shaves were the coolest thing in the world as they foamed on your face momentarily before disappearing completely.

the only ones who enjoy going to school are the ones who are getting good grades. what does that make of them? i, who am loath of school and going to school, am an avid learner. i just hate school. i'd rather be home writing and playing music. or out in front of the vast night contemplating, with my memory and fate drawn away from me. now that
feeds the soul. what do you do with your grades? i'm not the first to ask this question, but it's the first time i'm asking this question. i was born in the wrong era, and i have to let someone know fast. give me my people and something for music, let me start a place that will soon be lost.

as far as jackass stunts go, today probably took the proverbial cake. some korean dude (singer, celebrity guy) came over to school to do some filming. i think he was doing some documentary on schools in singapore or something. god knows why he chose my school. anyway, he would be in uniform the whole day: go to class for lessons, attend co-curricular activities and so on. the thing was, he had brown-dyed hair, had his first button undone, wore a chain and had a crew of 10 including a couple of cameramen wherever he went. all of which made it extremely easy to pick him out.
now this is the part where david gets involved. the whole story would be nothing if david wasn't involved. give the man food to eat and he starts a food fight. give him a korean celebrity, the results are far worse. but first a prologue...
06/04/2004, recess time
david and i decided to play connect 4. to make things interesting we decided to play for a mug of hoegaarden. the first game with david was a breeze. obviously he wasn't able to think the 2 steps ahead that i was able to. so 1 mug of hoegaarden to me, yay. second game, i became complacent and let david win me by some freak lapse in concentration. so no mugs of hoegaarden to me, boo. then we decided that the game was getting boring so we raised the stakes: the loser had to go up to a girl of the winner's choice, and ask her for her number. determined to keep up my reputation as well as to see david have his ripped away from him, i began playing. david had clearly woken up his ideas by that time, as it took me more than 6 moves to defeat him. in fact, he began to actually strategise and it became increasingly undecided as to who would win the game. with a whole gang of onlookers cheering both of us on, trying to fuel up the tension between us by berating our every move. as the game neared closure, i was gaining in confidence as i observed that my game plan was beginning to bear fruit. victory looked to be mine with every move david made, and i began looking around for girls to 'experience david'. haha. finally, i made my last move and won the game. and immediately announced the name of the girl david had to approach (the girl's name shall not be mentioned for i appreciate the value of my life and the use of my limbs). so with no choice, david approached the girl and asked her for her number. half a minute later he returned looking dejected, like he had missed out on the most important 8 numbers of his life.
so today, it was all about revenge. since yesterday we played connect 4, 'my game', today we would play tic-tac-toe 5 in-a-row, 'david's game'. we could have argued about how connect 4 is an officially recognised game in the world, and how tic-tac-toe 5-in-a-row is a bloody messy game for retards invented by david. but we didn't. instead we went straight to the wager: loser would have to approach the korean guy and ask for an autograph, HUGE and right across the back of the uniform. both of us agreed and started to play the fucked up game of tic-tac-toe 5 in-a-row. at first the game seemed to be going nowhere, as expected. but as time went by i was getting a hang of the game. but david being the master AND INVENTOR of the game seemed to know it better and beat me. accepting defeat and also keeping in mind the humiliation david had to go through, i agreed to carry out the forfeit. so it was decided that after school we would go look for the guy, to have him sign on me.
we saw him sitting at the bleachers, about to finish a set of filming. so we walked towards him. somehow word had got around within the area about what i was going to do, so there were some people standing and watching in anticipation. plucking up courage i grabbed my friend's marker, walked up to mr korean celebrity and asked him for his autograph on my back.
"you sure? your school won't mind?"
"nah they won't, just sign. big, across the back"
then he stretched my shirt taut and started signing on it. i swear he took at least 1 minute to sign, and it wasn't like i was going to go home, frame up my shirt and admire his signature, no offence. but i wanted to get it over and done with cos by that time students, his crew, his bloody cameramen and our school student-photographers who were on hand as well had gathered around to take photographs and video the whole thing. after he was done, i shook his hand and went far away. i got a lot of attention after that at the void deck. and so that was how that particular incident ended.
on my way home, i met the dude who took photographs for the school. he was telling me how he thought what i did was really interesting and that he wanted to interview me for some article in the CHINESE newspaper. i would have just slapped him, if not for his pitiful and desperate-to-please face. i told him that i did it only cos i was dared to, and i didn't even know the guy's name. he looked like i'd just burst his bubble, but asked if he could submit the photo and write an article with my name in it anyway. and i agreed, not wanting to disappoint the chap.
i used to think my brother would be the first and only one in my family to appear in the chinese newspaper. wrong! wrong!

ok, time to blog again. the mood of school's changing. i'm-a in year 2 now. or year 2 finally. it's actually flashed my mind to study on occasion recently. and that's a good thing. it
has happened before, usually before any major examinations. save my PSLE. couldn't give a monkey's tit for that one, but got through it anyway. but my point is, this abnormal behavioural trait has never surfaced so early in the year. i never really got down to finding out what my learning curve was really like, and when exactly i peaked in terms of academic performance. but my guess has always been 3 weeks, subsequent to embarking on studying. that could also be because i've never tried studying for longer than 3 weeks, so i assume that my performance level was at its peak. but anyway who's counting, right...
after the realisation that i NEED to start studying, the next step would be working on it. but that can wait. the progress made so far is phenomenal as it is. better not upset the balance.
