on the previous post

by today i mean yesterday.

1:14 AM

today, i finished school at 255pm, went straight home, and slept till about 9pm. woke up, had dinner, then went for a drive with my parents. that's right, no date.

being dateless on valentine's doesn't necessarily mean anything. i got my gifts, and well-wishes, hugs and hersheys kisses (that rhymes, dammit!) and having a date in the evening could have merely meant that i had to part with some cash in paying for dinner or a movie. [i being the guy] and all just under the farce of valentine's day. even just now, novelia when passing me a little something, told me to have fun with my hot date in the evening, i asked her what made her think i had plans for the evening. she said i just looked like 'the type', whatever that's supposed to mean. [heck, i'll take it as a compliment.] i just smiled and said i'm not going out. but if not for her spanish class i might have asked her out, actually. just for the fun of it. but i feel fulfilled, today. i didn't have a date, but i feel satisfied. i got lots of love, and i didn't even have to part with my money. happy v-day, y'all.

just sit over there
remain seated, yes.
no, no, don't get up. ok, i'll be right with you.
one second, yea?
yup, what's it?
why not?
haha, nah you're just paranoid.
of course! you look great!
well, we can't always have what we want, right?
-i know.
yes, so there's nothing to worry about.
look, you're alright. you've got a great life.
well, i don't see any reason for me to say otherwise?
-you don't even see.
no, you can't be the best.
well, there's no such thing, really, as best. you can be good, no doubt.
insecurites are a problem we're all going to have to overcome, yea?
you'll get what you want in the end, trust me.
-really? thank you.
yes, of course. you're really bright. good night.
-good night.

10:49 PM

i feel lost within myself. i don't really know who i am. am i kind? or am i selfish? do i bother about the way i look? or do i not? do i have ulterior motives? or don't i? i ask myself these questions because, i'm so easily influnced by what i see around me (and i want to be like that...) and i change myself. there was a point where i thought i was so sure of who i was, what i was and the way i was. but especially at this point in time, i'm confused: sono confuso. can i get what i want by being the way i am, that's the root question. and it's the question i try to answer by taking on different roles. i'm stretching myself thin, aren't i. ha.

10:39 PM

on why the promotion couldn't, in fact, be longer

cos you suck. : )

9:20 PM

i bet you lie about yourself. i bet you aren't as perfect as you make yourself out to be. you can't be a prize-winning singer, a national match-winning athlete, a fully-loaded rich kid with good manners and great people-skills (why're you nice to me?), you can't be that hard-working and smart, you can't be a grade-8 pianist, you can't be that mature and sensible and practical, you can't tell good jokes that make everyone laugh, you can't have good dress sense and look fine, you can't have that hot a girlfriend. it's just... not fair, you know?

recommended song for the day: Muse - Unintended

You could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You could be the one I'll always love
You could be the one who listens to my deepest inquisitions
You could be the one I'll always love

I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

First there was the one who challenged
All my dreams and all my balance
She could never be as good as you

You could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You should be the one I'll always love

I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

Before you

i have a theory. cds will never go in style, no matter how much technology advances and gives us tiny microdiscs capable of holding thousands of songs. simply because artistes cannot produce thousands of songs within an acceptable span of time. they will continue to write about 10 to 15 songs per release, and it does not make any sense to print these songs in the form of a high-tech microdiscs or whatever. even if we were to consider maybe several artistes getting together to release jointly their songs on such a disc in order to implement the use of the discs, there would be the problem of restricted artistic freedom. firstly, even if these discs have any space on them for designing, it's not going to be fair to let only one artiste handle the creative aspect of the disc. plus the packaging as well (let's assume these discs come in nice plastic packaging like the ones we're familiar with, cd sleeve attached also) different artistes will have different ideas for their albums. furthermore, if we choose to let these artistes come to a consensus on the creative mien of the disc, the time spent on that would lead to a great amount of unproductivity on the recording label's part. if we stuck to cds as we know them, it'd be more of a wham bam thank you, ma'am job. the prices of these microdiscs would also cause problems. if slipknot and britney spears decided to release a disc together, are the discs gonna cost as much as 2 cds? ok, not those two. nobody would ever put those two together even in the same sentence. let's say mushroomhead and slipknot. now, ignoring the fact that a consumer might only like slipknot and abhore the poseur-ish mushroomhead, will he have to pay two times more for the microdisc just because he is forced to 'enjoy' double the music? the consumer here doesn't really have a choice, and that would be a disastrous proposal therein. if we were to lower the prices of the discs to say, $29 for a disc consisting two artistes. the artiste that has his album on a cd will actually be earning more, and hence has no reason to endorse the super discs by printing on them. if you price these discs at double the price of a cd, ($50?) then no one's gonna buy them. no one in their right mind. in conclusion, cds will not become passe because of problems of restricted artistic creativity, prices of high-tech microdiscs capable of storing a lot more songs than cds, inability to combine artistic talents according to each consumer's taste, and finally unproductivity of recording labels should artistes be let to jointly print albums.

i'm gonna buy me a cd player.
